ST. DAVID'S, Pa. – Lebanon Valley used its team depth to edge out a slim 5-4 victory at Eastern on Friday afternoon, March 24.
The Flying Dutchmen (5-2) earned a pair of victories in doubles competition thanks to an 8-3 win by
Melanie Haas and
Marla Scacchitti over Eastern's top duo of Emma Paugh and Laura Thomas, as well as
Alyssa Potosnak and
Megan Williams besting of Lauren Good and Shannon Jugler by an 8-3 decision in the No. 2 matchup.
Potosnak picked up her second win of the day when she defeated No. 3 Leslie Henry 6-2, 6-3 in singles play and
Elizabeth Drda persevered through three sets to top Olivia Weaver 3-6, 6-3, 7-3 in the fourth individual outing. Williams 7-5, 6-3 solo victory over Emily Thomas in the No. 5 pairing proved the difference in securing LVC its fifth victory of the season.
The Dutchmen will look to win their third in a row when they host Elizabethtown for a non-conference match at the Shankroff Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
