GRANTHAM, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's season came to an end in the semifinal round of the MAC Commonwealth postseason tournament with a 5-0 loss at Messiah on Tuesday afternoon.
The Flying Dutchmen (7-11) dropped all three doubles contests, with
Megan Williams and
Allison Weidman keeping it closest among the duos in an 8-3 setback to Sydney Schandel and Emily Doron, Falcons number three team.
In singles play, Becky Pierpont dropped the number one match to Messiah's Ashli Livermore before the Falcons (11-6) clinched the playoff victory with Carly Dove's 6-2, 6-3 win over
Ariana Freeman in the fourth singles outing.
Marla Scacchitti won the first set of her number two solo matchup against Kelly Hopkins and
Elizabeth Drda was even with Doron when Messiah earned the clinching victory and left the remaining matches unfinished.
