ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley picked up where it left off earlier this week with a convincing victory over longtime rival Albright on Saturday afternoon. It was the team's second straight 8-1 win after the Flying Dutchmen defeated Arcadia by the same margin on Wednesday night.
LVC (5-7, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) was perfect in doubles play as
Rebecca Pierpont and
Marla Scacchitti earned an 8-4 victory in the top spot,
Ariana Freeman and
Olivia Edwards defeated their number two counterparts 8-6, and
Megan Williams and
Allison Weidman swept Albright's Sam Stichman and Rebecca Fritz in the number three matchup.
Scacchitti, LVC's number two solo player, stayed perfect on the day with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Erin Sullivan in singles action, as did Edwards, Freeman, and Weidman. Edwards bested Amanda Camporeale 6-0, 6-3 in the three slot, Freeman worked hard to earn a 6-2, 7-5 decision in the number four matchup, and Weidman topped Fritz 6-1, 6-0 in the number six spot.
Elizabeth Drda, the team's number five singles player, swept Stichman 6-0, 6-0 to complete the dominant Dutchmen victory.
Lebanon Valley is back on the court tomorrow afternoon when the team travels to Stevenson for another league outing beginning at 1 p.m.
