HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Lebanon Valley opened the spring portion of its 2015-16 schedule with an 8-1 defeat at the hands of an experienced Gordon team in Hilton Head, S.C. on Monday morning.
Gordon (13-3) entered Monday's matchup having already played 15 matches on the year compared to just four by the Flying Dutchmen (3-2). The importance of that kind of seasoning was evident in LVC's first matchup of the spring.
The Dutchmen were swept in doubles action before
Alyssa Potosnak picked up the team's only singles victory in a hard-fought matchup with Gordon's Haley Bean in the five slot. Potosnak came away with a 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 win.
The Dutchmen will be back in action on day two of the team's spring break trip when they take on Millersville on Tuesday night.
