HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's ice hockey program is set to host the 2016 Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League (ESCHL) Postseason Tournament at historic Hersheypark Arena beginning this Friday night, Feb. 19.
The Flying Dutchmen earned the tourney's no. 2 seed thanks to an impressive 24-5-0-0 overall record. Stony Brook, the nation's no. 1 team as ranked by the American College Hockey Association (ACHA), earned the top seed. LVC is the only team in the country to defeat Stony Brook (26-2-1-1) twice this season.
Thanks to the team's outstanding 2015-16 campaign, Lebanon Valley earned a first-round bye and will play its first game of the tournament on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. The Dutchmen will face the highest-remaining seed from the group of no. 3 Delaware, no. 4 Rutgers, no. 5 Rhode Island, and no. 6 West Chester. In the quarterfinal round, Delaware will face West Chester and Rutgers will take on Rhode Island. Both games take place Friday evening.
