"It will also be a great opportunity to thank everyone for their support in this endeavor."

The women's team is headed up by first-year head coach Isabel Menard and rosters players from six different states and Ontario. Menard previously served as the head coach of Appleby College located in Oakville, Ontario.

The women will compete as an independent team this winter and play 23 games during their inaugural campaign. The program is the first of its kind in Central Pennsylvania, providing an opportunity for a women's collegiate squad in a hockey-rich region.

LVC men's program returns to NCAA Division III this season, joining the ECAC West after a successful stint at the ACHA Division I level.  Head coach Don Parsons returns for his sixth season helming the Flying Dutchmen. The men won the ECAC Northeast Championship in 2000-01 and posted a program-record 23 wins the following year. The 30-man roster features players from 13 different states.

The Dutchmen are coming off an opening weekend that saw them play a pair of competitive contests against Stonehill at Hersheypark Arena. LVC fell by one goal in the season opener before earning a draw the next day.
