The Dutchmen kept the Eagles off the scoreboard for the rest of the period and went into the first intermission with a 1-0 advantage.

In the final minute of the second period, LVC drew a penalty and went on the power play and was unable to score in the final minute, however the Dutchmen still had just over a minute left of the power play to open the final period.

With a few seconds left on the power play, LVC broke through and took the lead when Bryan Hovanec scored is team-leading 20th goal off an assist from McKown to make it 2-1. Four minutes later, the Dutchmen extended the lead when Nate Kohlenhoefer's slap shot from the right side beat the goalie to make it 3-1. Just a minute remained when LVC put the game out of reach with Travis Acker's goal from Brad Nolan and Matthew Reno to put it at 4-1.
