How It HappenedAfter suffering a tough loss the night prior, Lebanon Valley responded with a decisive 6-0 shutout victory over Villanova in Philadelphia on Saturday night.
Travis Acker was the offensive star of the night for the Flying Dutchmen (18-4), scoring a pair of goals, while
Matthew Reno earned two points thanks to a pair of assists.
Jake Thomas scored what would eventually hold up as the game-winner off an assist from
Joey LaBonte to put LVC on the board first.
Mike Straub netted the team's second score before Acker went back-to-back to make if 4-0 Dutchmen.
Nate Kohlenhoefer found Acker for his first goal before Reno and
Russ Armbruster recorded assists on the fourth score.
Nick Skerlick put home Lebanon Valley's fifth goal and
Cody Pessig capped the game's scoring by finding twine off assists by Reno and
Brennan Thompson.

Inside the Numbers- With the victory, LVC improved its road record to an impressive 9-1.
- Thanks to his two scores,
Travis Acker now ranks fifth among Dutchmen with nine goals on the season. He also ranks fifth with 20 total points.
- Saturday's game was Lebanon Valley's final non-conference game of the year. LVC finished a perfect 10-0 against non-ESCHL opponents.
