READING, Pa. - Lebanon Valley improved to 2-0 in Commonwealth Conference play with an 8-1 win at Albright.
Senior
Mary Kate Lemon won her 50th career singles match, becoming the sixth Dutchman in program history to do so, to lead five singles wins for LVC (7-6, 2-0 CC) after they swept the doubles matches. Earlier this season, Lemon won her 100th combined match, and is now 50-18 for her career in singles play.
Lemon earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Brooke Ronney at No. 1 and win her team-leading 11th match of the season.
Nicole Kracum,
Brittany Dierwechter,
Marla Scacchitti, and
Olivia Edwards were all straight-set winners in singles, as well. Doubles saw Lemon and Kracum win 8-4 at No. 1, Dierwechter and Scacchitti 8-2 at No. 2, and
Lori Noble and
Ariana Freeman 8-5 at No. 3.
LVC will play a non-conference match at King's on Sunday.
SCHEDULE NOTE: LVC will complete its rain-halted home match with Alvernia Tuesday at 5 p.m. The Dutchmen led 2-1 after singles before rain stopped play on Tuesday, and it will resume with singles action.
