ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley won its Commonwealth Conference opened, beating Lycoming 7-0 in a rain-shortened match.
The Dutchmen went ahead 3-0 after doubles, then picked up singles wins by
Lori Noble,
Brittany Dierwechter, and
Ariana Freeman to go with
Olivia Edwards' win by default.
Mary Kate Lemon and
Nicole Kracum cruised 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Dierwechter and
Marla Scacchitti won by the same score at No. 2 with Noble and Freeman winning by default at No. 3.
In singles, Noble won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 and Dierwechter 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2. Freeman earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 4.
Alyssa Potosnak was leading 5-4 in the first set at No. 3, and
Megan Williams was down a set at No. 5 when rain forced a halt to the match.
LVC will host Alvernia April 7.
