FREDERICK, Md. - Lebanon Valley clinched a Commonwealth Conference Tournament berth with a 7-2 win at Hood on Saturday.
The Dutchmen (10-6, 4-0 CC) ensured their place in the postseason with two matches left to play thanks to strong singles play after a 2-1 doubles lead.
Mary Kate Lemon,
Lori Noble, and
Nicole Kracum each won twice to lead the Dutchmen.
Lemon/Kracum won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles and Noble and
Ariana Freeman captured No. 8-2, and LVC followed that with five singles victories, all in straight sets. Lemon won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 while Noble was a 6-0, 6-3 victor at No. 2. Kracum cruised to a shutout at No. 3, and
Brittany Dierwechter was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 4.
Olivia Edwards added LVC's final point at No. 6 with her 6-0, 6-2 victory.
LVC will complete its suspended match with Messiah on Monday, and Host Stevenson April 25 to end the regular season.
