WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley won its third straight match with a 7-2 victory at King's on Sunday.
The Flying Dutchmen (8-6) benefited from the strength of their singles play, including superbreaker wins by
Marla Scacchitti and
Alyssa Potosnak at Nos. 5 and 6 and a shutout victory by
Brittany Dierwechter at No. 4.
LVC led 2-1 through doubles thanks to wins at No. 1 by
Mary Kate Lemon/
Nicole Kracum and No. 3 by
Lori Noble/
Ariana Freeman. In singles, LVC won Nos. 2 through 4 handily as Noble, Kracum, and Dierwechter notched straight-set victories. Scacchitti grinded through a 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 win at No. 5, and Potosnak earned a hard-fought comeback 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 win at No. 6.
Lebanon Valley will resume its rain-halted Commonwealth Conference home match with Alvernia on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The Dutchmen lead the match 2-1 after doubles.
