ANNVILLE, Pa. - Senior
Mary Kate Lemon won her 100th career match with a three-set thriller at No. 1 singles to lead Lebanon Valley against Elizabethtown.
The Dutchmen fell 8-1 to a strong Blue Jays side, but Lemon's comeback 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 superbreaker win over Christy Evangelista at No. 1 made her the fifth player in program history to reach the century mark in combined wins.
In her career, Lemon is 49-17 in singles and 51-25 in doubles. She joins
Sarah Grodzinski '10 and former teammates Shayna Heintzelman '11, Lauren Fulmer '13, and
Christie Graf '14 in winning 100.
E-town won the other five singles flights in straight sets after winning all three doubles matches.
Lori Noble and
Nicole Kracum each forced extra games in their matches at Nos. 2 and 3 as LVC battled in a rematched of last year's Commonwealth Conference final - the last between the two rivals as the Blue Jays departed for the Landmark Conference this past summer.
LVC will open league play Saturday at Albright.
