How It HappenedWEST CHESTER, Pa. – No. 11 Lebanon Valley defeated West Chester 4-1 for its 10th consecutive victory, its longest streak since becoming a club team. The Dutchmen improved to 11-2-0-0, while the Golden Rams fell to 6-8-0-0.
In the first period, both teams could not find the back of the net until West Chester's Walsh scored with just over a minute and a half remaining to make it 1-0, a lead that the Golden Rams held after one period of action.
In the second period, the Dutchmen evened the game at 1-1 when
Bryan Hovanec netted a goal off an assist from
Travis Hall. Midway through the period, the Dutchmen went ahead for good when
Zach McKown scored off of a pass from Hovanec. Shortly after LVC went ahead, starting goaltender
Joel Eisenhower made a huge stop to preserve the 2-1 lead. Later in the period,
Travis Acker extended the Dutchmen's lead to 3-1 off an assist from
Jake Thomas.
LVC held that advantage when the second-period buzzer went off, and in the third period,
Jacob Horst scored just under four minutes in to seal the victory for the Dutchmen.
Inside the Numbers - Hovanec finished with a goal and an assist and has scored at least one goal throughout the Dutchmen's impressive win streak.
- Eisenhower picked up the win between the pipes and made 16 saves in the process.

UD NextLVC looks to continue its strong play when the squad travels to Newark, Del. to take on No. 22 Delaware on Friday at 7 p.m. before hosting the Blue Hens next Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hersheypark Arena.
