ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Elizabethtown proved too deep in singles play as they dealt Lebanon Valley a 6-3 loss in the Commonwealth Conference opener on Tuesday.

The Dutchmen (4-4, 0-1 CC) won at the top two singles flights despite missing No. 1 Christie Graf, as Amelia Capuano and Mary Kate Lemon took straight-set victories, but the Blue Jays (5-5, 1-0 CC) were too strong at the bottom of the later as they took the win.

Graf did team with Capuano in doubles to win 8-4 at No. 1, her 99th career win combined, but E-town took Nos. 2 and 3, with Lemon and Nicole Kracum battling at No. 2 before falling 9-8 (1) and Lori Noble and Lauren Shanberg dropping an 8-4 match at No. 3.

In singles, E-town quickly secure the match win with victories at Nos. 4, 5, and 6 to start. Capuano beat Christy Evangelista 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 and Lemon was a 6-4, 6-3 winner over Adriana Scotto at No. 2 for the Valley.

LVC will visit Hood on Saturday.
