Last-Second Lyco Bucket Snaps LVC's Win Streak

Box Score Men's Basketball
Lycoming 65, Lebanon Valley 63

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Lycoming's Rob Pillow hit the game-winning shot with 2.1 seconds left to cap a comeback win over Lebanon Valley, 65-63, on Wednesday night.

Playing their third game in five days, the Dutchmen (9-13, 7-8 CC) couldn't capitalize on another 30-point performance by Kevin Agnew as they gave up a 12-point second-half lead to the host Warriors (10-11, 6-9 CC). The loss snapped a four-game win streak and pushes LVC out of the fifth and final Commonwealth Conference playoff spot, putting it a game behind of Albright with three left to play.

Agnew scored 30 for the second straight game and eighth time this season, including six three-pointers, and Zach Mrozek and Mike Fasano each pitched in 10. Pillow had 15 off the bench, including the gamewinner and the steal off the final inbound to clinch the win. He was one of four Warriors in double figures along with Michael Rudy (12), Kevin Anthony (12), and Patrick Dougher (10).

After falling behind early, LVC found an 8-0 run late in the first half to tie and eventually take the lead, and ended the first half on an 8-2 run to lead 37-34.

The Dutchmen applied more pressure to start the second half, buoyed by three consecutive three-pointers from Agnew and a Fasano layup to break open a 12-point lead at the 11:58 mark. Lycoming slowly chipped away, however, starting with an Eric Ishman three-pointer and continuing in a 6-0 run capped by a pair of Michael Rudy free throws to cut the lead to four with 5:44 remaining.

Back-to-back Pillow trifectas tied the game, and after two free throws put Lycoming ahead, Mike Fasano hit a jumper with 1:09 left to tie it at 63-63. Rudy missed his first shot, but Pillow snagged the carom and swished a pull-up jumper from the elbow with 2.1 seconds left. After two timeouts, Mrozek couldn't get a half-court inbound pass to connect as Pillow snagged it to seal the win.

LVC will host Messiah on Saturday as part of Hot Dog Frank Day at 2 p.m.
