Lebanon Valley College 55, Hood College 38
FREDERICK, Md. – The Lebanon Valley women's basketball team held Hood to just 25% shooting from the field, cruising to a 55-38 victory on Monday evening in Frederick, Md.
Allowing just four field goals in the first half, the Dutchmen (17-4, 11-3 CC) were excellent on defense throughout the night, stifling the Hood (5-16, 2-12 CC) offensive sets possession after possession. The Blazers shot just 11-for-44 from the floor and knocked down 4-of-12 three-pointers and 12-of-20 shots from the charity stripe.

Peyton Carper backed up her career day on Saturday with another double-digit scoring performance with 10 points. Carper also tallied five rebounds, three assists and a steal for the Valley. Freshman 
Lexie Lantz put in a solid performance with 10 points and four rebounds, while senior 
Caitlin Bach also chipped in with eight points and nine boards.
LVC held a 42-31 rebounding advantage in the game, impressing with 13 boards on the offensive end. 18 Dutchmen turnovers didn't hurt the Valley as they forced 21 from the Blazers, converting those into 15 points.
Lebanon Valley held the lead from the opening tip to the final buzzer, controlling the game from the get-go. Sophomore 
Bridget Rothert's shot from distance at the 12:26 mark of the first half capped off an 11-4 run to open the game.
Leading by as much as 12 as a Bach layup made it 24-12 with 2:33 to play in the half, Hood cut that lead to a manageable 10 points by the halftime break with both teams going into the locker room at 26-16.
Similar to the first half, LVC's run occurred early in the second as a 9-4 burst brought the lead up to 15 at 35-20. That lead would never dip lower than 13 for the remainder of the game as the Valley cruised to its 17th win of the year.
LVC's 11th conference win moves them into a tie for first in the conference standings with Messiah. The Falcons come to town on Saturday afternoon for that all-important first-place matchup at 4 p.m.
The Valley continues a busy week on Wednesday evening, traveling to Williamsport for a matchup with Lycoming at 6 p.m.
