Dutchmen Fall To Hot-Shooting Alvernia, 73-58

Box Score Men's Basketball
Alvernia 73, Lebanon Valley 58

READING, Pa. - Lebanon Valley couldn't make its shots fall as it ran up against a hot Alvernia team in a 73-58 setback on Saturday.

The Dutchmen (5-11, 3-7 CC) shot 19-for-58 (32.8%) for the game and were unable to contain Alvernia's 53.8% clip including Brian Parker's 12-for-15, 24-point day.

Kevin Agnew led LVC with 20 points, including 11-of-12 at the line, and Kyler Burke scored 11 with Zach Mrozek pitching in 10 off the bench. Despite their shooting woes from the floor, LVC continued to be hot at the line, making 16 of 19 free throw attempts.

Alvernia had four players in double digits led by Parker and Harrison Deyo's 13/12 double-double.

The Dutchmen never led after the first five minutes following an 8-0 Alvernia run that broke open a tie game. LVC hung within six points for most of the rest of the half, but a 7-0 spurt early in the second half from the Crusaders pushed the lead to 15 points at 48-33, and LVC was not able to mount a comeback bid in the final 15 minutes.

LVC visits Misericordia for a make-up of their postponed date on Monday at 7 p.m.
