Lebanon Valley 78, Albright 57
READING, Pa. - Behind a career game from
Mike Fasano and 28 points by
Kevin Agnew, Lebanon Valley picked up a key road win at Albright, 78-57.
The Dutchmen (5-9, 3-5 CC) took full control of the game with a 14-0 run to end the first half, turning a 25-22 lead into a 43-22 advantage early in the second half.
Fasano scored a career-high 18 points, including four three-pointers, to go with four assists while Agnew had a 16-for-17 afternoon at the line on his way to 28 points.
Joey Giangiobbe and
Luke Berguson had 10 points each.
LVC shot a whopping 34-for-39 at the foul line to Albright's 8-for-17, a huge difference that helped the Dutchmen maintain their lead deep in the second half despite a nearly 10-minute field goal drought.
Pedro Perez led Albright (8-7, 4-4 CC) with 15 points, and Kyle Jordan pitched in 14. The Lions suffered through a 26.7 percent first half of shooting, and were 1-for-14 from beyond the arc.
The Dutchmen never trailed, scoring the first 11 points before Albright pulled back into it to make it a one-basket game midway through the half. After Albright made back-to-back baskets with five minutes left, LVC embarked on a huge 14-0 run to end the half, with six different scorers helping blow the advantage up to 39-22.
Agnew and Berguson combined to score the first four points of the second half, as well, and the visitors were off and running with a 21-point lead. Albright chipped away, but a 10-4 run later in the half - with all of LVC's points coming at the line - helped shut the door. In the final 10 minutes of the half, LVC took just five shots (making two), but went 19-for-21 at the line to seal the win.
LVC will host Hood Wednesday night.
