Lebanon Valley 6, Susquehanna 3
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley battled back with five singles victories to beat Susquehanna, 6-3, in their season opener.
The Dutchmen (1-0) trailed 2-1 through doubles, but won at the top five singles slots to start their season with a win.
The match was highlighted by
Lori Noble's three-set win at No. 4 as she came back from a set down to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-3, and
Meghan Muccilli also needed three to win at No. 2 with a third-set tiebreak, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (5).
LVC won in straight sets in three other singles flights, with
Christie Graf cruising 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1,
Mary Kate Lemon winning 6-4, 7-6 (1) at No. 3, and
Nicole Kracum easing to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5.
In doubles, Graf and Muccilli won 8-2 at No. 1, but LVC dropped a pair of 8-6 decisions at No. 2 and 3 to spot Susquehanna (0-1) the match lead.
LVC will host Arcadia next Saturday.
