Commonwealth Conference Final
Elizabethtown 5, Lebanon Valley 1
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Elizabethtown clinched its fourth straight Commonwealth Conference title, besting Lebanon Valley 5-1 in Saturday's tournament final.
The two teams were meeting for the sixth straight time in the CC final, with Elizabethtown (16-3) winning the last four. LVC ends its season at 12-7.
In doubles, Elizabethtown picked up two quick points at Nos. 2 and 3, but
Christie Graf and
Amelia Capuano held off Madison Pipkin and Allison Burkhardt at No. 1 to win 9-7 for LVC's lone point.
In singles, the Jays picked up their first win at No. 6 with Kaitlyn Pellegrino winning 6-0, 6-1 against
Lori Noble, and Christie Evangelista was a 6-0, 6-3 victor against
Mary Kate Lemon at No. 5. Burkhart's 6-4, 6-2 win over Capuano at No. 2 proved to be the match clincher; at the time of suspension, E-town was up a set at Nos. 1 and 3, and
Meghan Muccilli had split sets with Adriana Scotto at No. 4.
