Lebanon Valley 5, Messiah 1

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley advanced to its sixth consecutive Commonwealth Conference final, dispatching Messiah 5-1 in Wednesday's semifinal.

The Dutchmen (12-6) will advance to play at Elizabethtown Saturday at noon for the CC title.

The two teams split No. 1 and 2 doubles, with Christie Graf and Amelia Capuano winning 8-3 at 1 and Molly Brubaker and Ellen Harpold topping Mary Kate Lemon and Meghan Muccilli 8-5 at 2. Lauren Fulmer and Lauren Shanberg rallied back to win at No. 3, forcing a tiebreak to win 9-8 (6) and put LVC up 2-1.

In singles, Fulmer quickly won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 over Harpold, and Capuano put away Molly Brubaker 6-3, 6-0 to put LVC on the brink of victory.

Graf won the clincher, putting on a gutsy performance to come back from 5-2 down in the first set to win 7-5, 6-2 against Erin Ipsen.

Mary Kate Lemon and Lori Noble were both up a set at Nos. 5 and 6, and Meghan Muccilli had just started the third at No. 4 at the time of suspension.
