Lebanon Valley 8, Alvernia 1
READING, Pa. - Lebanon Valley ended the regular season with a solid 8-1 win over Alvernia in a match-up of postseason-bound teams.
The Dutchmen (11-6, 5-1 CC) were already locked into the Commonwealth Conference's #2 tournament seed heading into the weekend, and will host Messiah on Wednesday in a semifinal. Alvernia qualified despite the loss, and will head to top-seeded Elizabethtown.
LVC had little trouble despite playing without No. 1
Christie Graf, adjusting the lineup and winning five out of six singles flights.
Amelia Capuano cruised 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1, and
Lauren Fulmer battled to a 6-3, 3-6, 10-2 win at No. 2.
Mary Kate Lemon gave up just one point at No. 4, 6-0, 6-1, and
Lori Noble rallied back to win 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 at No. 5.
Lauren Shanberg capped the match with a 6-2, 7-5 No. 6 win.
