Lebanon Valley 8, Messiah 1
GRANTHAM, Pa. - Lebanon Valley improved to 2-1 in Commonwealth Conference play, sweeping the singles matches to beat Messiah 8-1.
The Dutchmen (8-6, 2-1 CC) had little trouble at the top of the lineup, including shutouts by
Christie Graf at No. 1 and
Lauren Fulmer at No. 3, but
Meghan Muccilli and
Lori Noble had to dig deep to win in three. Muccilli came back from a set down at No. 4, overcoming Eileen Barker 2-6, 6-3, 11-9, while Noble had to fend off Katelyn Clark at No. 6 6-2, 3-6, 10-8.
Amelia Capuano won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2, and
Mary Kate Lemon was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 5.
In doubles, LVC's No. 1 and 3 teams won, while Messiah picked up its lone point at No. 2.
LVC returns home Wednesday to host Lycoming.
