Lebanon Valley 7, Ursinus 2
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley won five of six singles flights to pick up a 7-2 win over Ursinus on Saturday.
Playing for the first time since March 7, the Dutchmen (5-4) led 2-1 through doubles, then fought out several tough matches in singles play, including three-set wins by
Mary Kate Lemon and
Lori Noble at the bottom two flights.
Lemon came back from a set down to beat Stephanie-Jane Seabra 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5, and Noble held off Caroline Lippe 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 at No. 6.
Lauren Fulmer needed a second-set tiebreak to beat Jessica Tyrrell 6-4, 7-6 (4) at No. 3, while
Christie Graf and
Amelia Capuano cruised to straight-set wins at Nos. 1 and 2.
LVC will open Commonwealth Conference play Thursday at Albright.
