#19 W. Basketball Beats Arcadia, Clinches Third Seed

Box Score Women's Basketball
Lebanon Valley 83, Arcadia 65

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Though Arcadia came out hot and led for the first 10 minutes, #19 Lebanon Valley was able to right the ship and pull away with an 83-65 win Tuesday night.

Because Widener was able to beat Messiah Tuesday, they clinched the second seed heading into the Commonwealth Conference Tournament. LVC's win locks up the third seed, and the Dutchmen will play at either Messiah or Widener next week.

Kiely Chaklos and Tierney Hiltz each scored 17 points in the win. Renee Fritz, Liz Borgia, Lauren Ruhl, and Caitlin Bach scored six each, and Bach led in rebounding with eight boards.

The Dutchmen pieced together a 10-0 run to overcome a 10-point deficit midway through the first half. Chaklos, Bach, and Hiltz combined for five consecutive jumpers to tie the game at 22-22 with just over six minutes to play.

Minutes later, LVC heated up to score the final six points of the half, ending it on an and-one layup and free throw combination by Chaklos to give the Dutchmen a 45-27 lead heading into halftime.

LVC's shooting fell off in the second half – from 48 to 28 percent from the field. Free throws ultimately made the greatest impact. LVC sank 37 of 41 in the game, including 22 after the break.

The Dutchmen led by as many as 27 points in the second half and never fell below a 15-point advantage. Chaklos scored 10 of her 17 points and shot 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Fritz and Bach gave the team plenty of chances by combining for eight defensive rebounds.

Samantha Caligiuri led Arcadia (10-14, 3-14) with 17 points. Dominique Hassinger wasn't far behind with 12.

Prior to the start of the game, the Dutchmen held their annual Senior Day ceremonies to celebrate the careers of Rachel Armor, Liz Borgia, Sarah Colton, Amanda Donia, Fritz, Hiltz, Lindsey Nies, and Gia Russo.

LVC closes out the regular season Saturday at Stevenson.
