ASTON, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley volleyball team did not drop a set in the semifinals and finals of the ECAC South Tournament to capture the first ECAC Championship in program history on Saturday evening.
With the championship-match win, the Valley earns its 30th victory of the season, marking just the third time the program has reached the 30-win plateau. LVC went 33-1 in 2008 and 31-3 in 2009. Junior
Kayla Confer was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player following the championship match.
 "I couldn't be more pleased with our performance today," head coach  Wayne Perry said. "We got stronger as the day went along and really  played well throughout both matches. I'm very happy for the seniors,  who played so well today, to be able to go out on top. I commend  them  highly for their motivation and play throughout the season and  today."
 The Valley opened up the afternoon with a three-set victory over  Swarthmore with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, and 25-21.
 After opening up the match cruising to a 25-18 set win, the second  set  was battle as the Valley trailed for the majority of the game.  However,  LVC stormed back, tying it up at 23 and winning the final  two points to  take the game and swing the match in their favor. A 25- 21 third set  victory sent the Dutchmen to the final.
 Confer led the offense with 11 kills, while freshman
Greta Weidemoyer was back to her old self with 10 kills on 22 attacks with just two errors for a .364 hitting percentage.
The entire back row played solid defense throughout the match as junior
Kacey Musselman and freshman
Rachel Moltz recorded 13 and 11 digs, respectively, and senior
Jess Finlayson and sophomore
Allie Garrett each had nine digs.
The Valley were also a force at the net as seven different players recorded a block. Weidemoyer led the way with three block assists and a block solo, while Confer, Musselman, and sophomore
Alli Quirk posted two block assists apiece.
In the final, LVC led for the majority of the match and played arguably their best match of the season with a set scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-13.
Weidemoyer was a force to be reckoned with in the attacking department, putting down 12 kills on 24 attempts with just two errors, hitting at a .417 clip. Confer was also excellent with 10 kills and one error on 21 swings for a .429 hitting percentage.
Musselman recorded 37 assists to control the LVC offensive sets, while Garrett and Finlayson took care of the defensive duties with 15 and nine digs, respectively. Senior
Megan Schoch also had a solid match with seven kills and two block assists for the Dutchmen.
LVC finishes the 2013 season with an overall record of 30-7.
