Alicia Hain reset her program record in the 1,000-yard freestyle to lead LVC in the regular-season finale at Messiah on Saturday.
Messiah won both sides of the meet, 134-50 for the men and 152-52 for the women as LVC was making its final tune-up before MAC Championships in two weeks' time.
Hain touched the wall in 12:00.11 in the 1,000-free, lowering her program record of 12:02.85 by nearly three seconds. Hain also scored a second-place finish in the 100-free (59.58), as did
Jan Ikeda in the 400-IM (4:59.79), and the 200-free relay (
Julia Mongeau, Ikeda,
Noelle Brossman,
Charlie Robinson) was second in 1:48.82.
Matt Dwyer won the 100-back in 1:01.50 for LVC's sole event victory, ahead of teammate
Blade Umstead in 1:04.14. The men turned in a number of second-place finishes, including the men's 200 medley relay (Umstead,
Bobby Burkhart, Clay Heenber, and
Dan Weinel) in 1:48.60; Heebner in the 100-fly (57.63) and 500-free (5:35.94);
Ian Jackson in the 1,000-free (11:44.47); Dwyer in the 200-free (2:03.47); Weinel in the 50-free (23.45); and Burkhart in the 100-breast (1:06.70).
