Widener 69, Lebanon Valley 50
CHESTER, Pa. - Lebanon Valley couldn't kick-start its offense as it fell to Widener, 69-50, Wednesday night.
The Dutchmen (7-11, 4-7 CC), who were missing starting point guard
Kevin Agnew from the line-up, never settled into an offensive groove as they shot just 35.8% (19-for-53) for the game. The Pride (5-13, 4-7 CC) were led by Rodney Brown's 24 points.
Danny Brooks paced LVC with 15 points and seven rebounds, and
Joey Giangiobbe had nine points.
Matt O'Brien returned to the line-up with six points and as many boards.
After both teams traded the lead for most of the first half, Widener finally nailed down an advantage with a 7-0 run sparked by a Brown three-pointer that eventually had them up 30-22 at the break.
Two quick baskets by
Kyler Burke and
Matt O'Brien cut into the Pride lead to start the second half, but the hosts ran off an 10-0 spurt while holding LVC scoreless for more than four minutes, driving their lead to 16 and pulling away from there mid-half. The Pride shot 51.5% after the break.
LVC will visit Elizabethtown on Saturday
