ANNVILLE, Pa. -

The Dutchmen (5-7) won for the second straight outing as they opened 2013 with the wire-to-wire victory. Brooks had an impressive game, pouring in 18 in the first half and shooting 14-of-21 overall from the floor to go with 10 rebounds. The senior his previous best of 31 from earlier this season at Arcadia; it's his third 30+ point game and fifth double-double of the season.
Kevin Agnew added 16 points, and
Matt O'Brien had a solid all-around game with seven points, seven rebounds and five assists as LVC shot over 50% for the third straight game.
The Lions (5-8) were led by Jordan Gatchell's 16 points as the senior scored his 1,000th career point just before halftime.
LVC never trailed, getting out to a big opening as Brooks scored 10 of LVC's first 12 points. LVC led 42-24 at halftime, the largest lead to that point, and extended the advantage to 19 five minutes into the second half. The Lions, however, chipped away with a 12-4 run to draw within 11, and Thristan Lundy's layup with 7:16 remaining made it a 61-51 ballgame.
Brooks took over from there for the Dutchmen making two straight shots before
Matt O'Brien drained a three from the far wing to put LVC up 12 with 5:37 left. A
Joey Giangiobbe bucket and two Agnew free throws put the game out of reach in the final minutes.
LVC will get back to Commonwealth Conference play Saturday, hosting Stevenson at 1 p.m.
