Susquehanna 6, Lebanon Valley 3

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College women's tennis was defeated by Susquehanna, 6-3, in their fall opener on Saturday.

The Dutchmen picked up points thanks to Megan Muccilli and Mary Kate Lemon at No. 2 doubles, and Lemon and Lauren Shanberg at Nos. 3 and 5 singles, respectively.

Susquehanna took a 2-1 lead in doubles with wins at No. 1, 8-1 over Christie Graf and Lauren Fulmer, and No. 3, 8-6, against Shanberg and Nicole Kracum. Muccilli and Lemon won 9-7.

In singles, the Dutchmen had to shift up with No. 2 Amelia Capuano not playing. Lemon beat Ellen Pulsinelle 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 and Shanberg was a 7-5, 6-3 victor over Jess Lage at No. 5.

Shelby O'Riley won at No. 1 over Graf, 7-5, 6-2, and Abby Hess defeated Fulmer 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2. Brielle Furlauto topped Lori Noble in a tiebreak, 6-3, 7-6 (5) at No. 4, and Kracum fell to Claire Smyth 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6.
