Lebanon Valley 9, Alvernia 0
READING, Pa. - Lebanon Valley stretched its win streak to eight matches as it shut out Alvernia, 9-0, on Thursday.
The Dutchmen (10-3, 2-0 CC) stayed perfect in Commonwealth Conference play leading into a big match-up against also-perfect Elizabethtown on April 14.
LVC played a spot up at all flights without No. 1
Christie Graf, but it didn't matter as they came away with quick wins at almost every level.
Lauren Fulmer highlighted the match with a hard-fought rally victory at No. 2 singles, beating Kayla Morgan from a set down, 4-6, 6-2, 10-1.
Amelia Capuano cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jennifer Petrilla at No. 1, while
Tam Lobb and
Mary Kate Lemon each won their ninth straight matches at Nos. 3 and 4, both by 6-1, 6-0 scorelines.
Meghan Muccilli won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5, and
Lori Noble was a 6-0, 6-2 victor at No. 6.
In doubles, Capuano/Lobb needed extra tennis to win 9-7 at No. 1, while the No. 2 team of Fulmer/Muccilli and
Nicole Kracum/Lemon at No. 3 both won 8-3.
