Lebanon Valley 9, Messiah 0
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley cruised to its third Commonwealth Conference win of the season, blanking Messiah 9-0 on Wednesday.
The Dutchmen (11-4, 3-1 CC) can clinch a playoff spot on Saturday with a win at Lycoming, while the Falcons (4-8, 0-3 CC) were pushed the edge of elimination.
LVC won all six singles matches in straight sets, led by identical 6-2, 6-1 wins by
Christie Graf and
Amelia Capuano at Nos. 1 and 2. The win was Capuano's 10th in a row.
Lauren Fulmer won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3, while
Tam Lobb was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 4.
Mary Kate Lemon and
Meghan Muccilli capped the victory at Nos. 5 and 6, winning 6-3, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-1, respectively.
Doubles was more of the same as Graf/Capuano extended their win streak to six with an 8-1 result, and Lobb/Lemon were 8-5 winners at No. 2 with Muccilli/Fulmer winning 8-4 at No. 3.
LVC will host future conferencemate Stevenson Thursday.
