Lebanon Valley 8, Arcadia 1

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley had to play inside, but it didn't stop the Dutchmen from carding an 8-1 result over Arcadia in their Commonwealth Conference opener.

The Dutchmen (9-3, 1-0 CC) won their seventh straight match as they headed inside the Arnold Sports Center Arena after early-morning rain dampened the outdoor courts.

Christie Graf and Amelia Capuano led the Dutchmen with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 and an 8-0 shutout at No. 1 doubles, while Tam Lobb, Mary Kate Lemon, and Meghan Muccilli also came up with two wins each.

LVC led 3-0 after doubles, and Graf beat Dominique Canale 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 before Capuano took a first-set tiebreak to win 7-6 (5), 6-1 over Beth Osipowitz at No. 2.

Lobb was a 6-2, 6-1 winner against Jasmine Peake at No. 4, and Mary Kate Lemon beat Danielle Riggins 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5. Muccilli capped the win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Latoya Fluker at No. 6.  Arcadia's lone point came as Kaila Gaughan rallied to beat Lauren Fulmer 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 at No. 3 singles.

LVC will visit Alvernia on Thursday for a 3:30 start.
