Lebanon Valley 3, #24 West Chester 2
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Two goals in the final minute - including freshman
Joe Foti's gamewinner with one second left - lifted Lebanon Valley to a dramatic 3-2 win over #24 West Chester on Sunday.
The Dutchmen (2-0) trailed 2-1 in the third period after West Chester went ahead, but freshman
Klayton Garman evened it up with 46 seconds remaining as LVC was on the power play with the goalie pulled. That set up Foti's last-ditch gamewinner with 1.6 seconds remaining in the game.
The Golden Rams fell to 0-2-1, coming into the game ranked 24th in the latest ACHA Division 1 Top 25 poll.
Cole Bell scored LVC's opener at 9:52 of the second to tie the game 1-1.
James Murray made 33 saves in net. LVC's penalty kill continued to be outstanding, shutting down all five power plays (including a five-minute major) by the Golden Rams.
LVC will swing through upstate New York next weekend, visiting RIT on Friday night and Canisus on Saturday.
