WASHINGTON, D.C. – Lebanon Valley won an early match against Scranton before being overpowered by Gallaudet at a tri-match Saturday.
 
Saturday also marks the end of the season for LVC (19-14). The loss ends a streak of 19 seasons in which the Dutchmen finished with 20 wins or more.
 
Alli Quirk had a strong night on the attack against Scranton, hitting 14 of 26 for kills and a .462 percentage. After losing in set one, the Dutchmen won in each of the next three sets. Quirk had four kills in each set.
 
“She really carried a big load for us and probably played her best match of the season,” said head coach Wayne Perry. “The team played very inspired in the match and really turned it on after game one.”
 
Other offensive leaders were 
Kellsie Groff with 16 kills, 
Steph Klunk with 11, and 
Ally Stengel with nine while playing in the middle for the first time.
 
“We changed our defense today, and we were really digging like crazy,” Perry said.
 
The results of the changes: 
Kacey Musselman led with 26 digs, followed by 
Allie Garrett at 18, Groff at 17, 
Emily Sides at 11, and 
Jess Finlayson at 10.
 
In the loss against Gallaudet, 
Sarah Godfrey led with nine kills, followed by 
Kayla Confer with six and Quirk with five.
 
Musselman led the defensive effort with 15 digs, and Sides scooped another 10. Quirk had two block solos.
 
“We played hard against Gallaudet,” Perry said. “They were just very smooth.”
