#17 Dutchmen Launch by Immaculata in Second Half, 69-48

IMMACULATA, Pa. - The #17 Lebanon Valley women's basketball team used an enormous second-half surge to overtake Immaculata in a 69-48 road win Thursday night.

Caitlin Bach, Renee Fritz, and Tierney Hiltz each totaled 17 points on the night. Fritz had an especially strong night in the box score with 11 rebounds, marking her first double-double of the season.

The Dutchmen (11-2) trailed the Mighty Macs (6-6) 29-25 at halftime but started the second half off with back-to-back baskets by Fritz and Hiltz to tie the game.

The lead changed hands three times in the first four minutes of the half before LVC got a jumper in the paint by Caitlin Murphy that opened a 16-3 run and propelled the team to a 13-point, 52-39 lead. Fritz and Bach combined for 11 of the 16 points.

The Dutchmen shot a combined 43 percent from the field, including a 7-for-9 night from Fritz and 5-for-9 nights from Bach and Hiltz.

Kiely Chaklos finished with nine points, including seven from the free throw line. She was 6-for-6 from the stripe in the second half.

Murphy was a rock, logging 37 minutes on the floor. She finished with six points, six rebounds, and a game-high five assists.

Thursday's game is the final nonconference contest on the regular season schedule for LVC. The Dutchmen resume conference play at Lycoming on Jan. 11.
