GLENSIDE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley cruised to an 8-1 win at Arcadia on Sunday, going to 3-1 in league play and moving one step closer to clinching a Commonwealth Conference playoff berth.
The Dutchmen (9-6, 3-1 CC) won all three doubles points and five of the six singles matches to pick up their third CC win.
Shayna Heintzelman led LVC with a win at No. 1, beating Megan Gillespie 6-1, 6-3, and
Lauren Fulmer blanked Beth Osipowitz 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.
Christie Graf cruised by Irina Samson 6-2, 6-0, and
Tam Lobb shut out Sophie Japhet at No. 4 6-0, 6-0. Jess Ferlenda capped the win with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Melissa D'Arcangelo at No. 6.
In doubles Heintzelman/Graf beat Gillespie/Osipowitz 8-0 at No. 1, Fulmer/Lobb topped Japhet/Samson 8-2 at No. 2, and
Lauren Shanberg/
Cortney Swisher beat Peake/D'Arcangelo 8-6 at No. 3.
Jasmine Peake's 6-3, 6-7, 10-8 win over
Danielle Bordner at No. 5 singles was Arcadia's lone point.
LVC will make up its postponed match at Messiah on Wednesday.
