ANNVILLE, Pa. -
Joe Meehan,
Anthony Trautman, and
Danny Brooks all eclipsed 20 points to lead Lebanon Valley past Wesley, 87-74, and into Sunday's ECAC South championship game.
Number-one seed LVC (22-7) will bid to win their fourth ECAC title and first since 2003-04 when they play third-seeded Catholic, an 88-56 blowout winner over second-seeded DeSales earlier in the day. The final will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the LVC Gymnasium.
The Dutchmen shot a hot 56.9% for the game to overcome 19 turnovers. Meehan scored 27 to go with six assists, and Trautman added 24 . Brooks worked up 20 points and nine boards from the post to go with four helpers.
Jordan Stewart added 11 rebounds.
Darrell Johnson led fifth-seeded Wesley (18-11) with 26 points, who put four scorers in double-digits including Eric Selby's 16 off the bench.
LVC improved to 14-2 at home with a wire-to-wire victory, never trailing after Meehan's opening layup. The junior scored 20 of his 27 in the first half, ending the period on fire with a fadeaway three-pointer at the buzzer to go up 44-35.
Wesley fought back to close the gap to five early in the second half, but
Sean MacIntosh's jumper and a Trautman three-pointer took the lead back to 10. The Dutchmen built on their advantage from there, using a 9-3 run midway through the half to take total control down the stretch.
Earlier, Catholic's Jason Banzhaf scored 23 to lead the Cardinals (21-8) in a big win over DeSales (20-9), 88-56. Catholic outrebounded the Bulldogs 53-33 in the win.
