Lebanon Valley 91, Widener 77

ANNVILLE, Pa.
- Lebanon Valley used a red-hot first half to build a big lead and take Widener out of the game, winning their sixth straight, 91-77, behind 29 points from Anthony Trautman.

The Dutchmen (15-6, 6-4 CC) were all but out of the conference race at 1-4 after the Pride (9-12, 4-6 CC) beat them 71-70 on a buzzer-beater back on Jan. 15. But since that game, LVC has reeled off six straight wins and to move into a tie for third in the conference standings with four games left.

Lebanon Valley shot 64.7% (22-for-34) in the first half, with Trautman picking up 17 of his 29 in the first half after making his first eight shots of the game (he finished 13-of-19). Joe Meehan added 19 with five assists and four steals, and Danny Brooks worked 11 points inside. LVC shot 57.4% for the game.

Widener was led by Bob Makor's 17 off the bench, and Andrew Radomicki and Trey Severs each had 11.

The Pride stuck with the hot-shooting Dutchman to start the game, but a 7-0 spurt run mid-half extended the lead to 24-14, and the advantage never went below 10 from there as part of a larger 16-2 run put LVC up 20 at the half.

The game remained out of reach in the second half as LVC's offense kept sinking buckets, although Widener showed some signs of life in the closing moments to cut an 85-62 lead down with a 15-3 run. It was too little, too late, however, as LVC held on for the win.

LVC will host Messiah on Wednesday night.
