NEW YORK - Freshman guard Kiely Chaklos dialed in for her first career double-double in a 61-47 win over Brooklyn College Thursday night. She finished with a season-high 17 points and 10 rebounds, leading a cast of three women that reached double-digit scoring.

The #8 Dutchmen (8-0, 2-0 CC) led the Bulldogs (6-2) 24-19 with 3:14 to play in the first half when sophomore guard Courtney Escudero drove for a layup that started the team's largest run of the game. LVC scored eight unanswered points before allowing seven points leading into halftime to lead 32-26.

Chaklos and junior center Renee Fritz each scored seven points in the first half. Additionally, Chaklos led with six rebounds, four of which were defensive.

The Dutchmen were hot at 44 percent shooting and a perfect 8-for-8 mark from the free throw line.

Junior forward Liz Borgia opened the second half with a jumper off a pass from senior guard Caitlin Murphy. Junior guard Amanda Donia followed with a three pointer that put LVC up 37-26.

Later, Fritz notched a pair of back-to-back layups at 14:25 and 13:35. Junior guard Tierney Hiltz picked up assists on both scores.

Chaklos launched a 7-0 run at 7:40 with a jumper that put the Dutchmen up 47-32, but it was Murphy doing most of the work. She sank a layup and an and-one free throw, then went on to grab a defensive board, get fouled again, and sink a pair of shots from the stripe.

Shots went back-and-forth for the final few minutes of the game, landing the Dutchmen their eighth win of the season.

The team saw a dropoff in shooting with a 32 percent mark from the field in the second half, but the Bulldogs shot just 17 percent. Murphy finished the night with 14 points, and Fritz finished with 11.

LVC led in rebounding, 52-36. Fritz finished behind Chaklos with seven boards
