Brooks Returns in 67-54 Loss at Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa - The Lebanon Valley starting lineup was rejoined by leading scorer Danny Brooks Saturday afternoon in a 67-54 loss at Misericordia.

Brooks entered the game averaging 21 points per game. He came out quick in his reunion, leading the Dutchmen (7-4) with 20 points.

Cameron Prince drained a three-pointer with 15:59 to play in the first half that started a run of nearly 11 minutes that the Dutchmen held a lead. They shot 40 percent (12 for 30) before the break but headed to halftime down 29-27.

Jordan Stewart opened the second half with a three pointer that gave the team its final lead of the game at 30-29. Stewart finished out with 10 points, second only to Brooks.

The Cougars (7-3) jumped to 11-point leads three times in the final five minutes and closed out strong to win it 67-54. They were led offensively by Ethan Eichhorst, who scored a game-high 25 points. He finished with 11 rebounds for a double-double.

The Dutchmen shot just 34.5 percent in the second half. They took 14 trips to the free throw line, collectively, but shot just 50 percent at 7-for-14. Brooks was a player until the end, shooting 9-for-18 from the field. Stewart went 4-for-6.

With six points, Joe Meehan moved into 10th place on LVC's all-time scoring list with 1,360 career points. Joey Giangiobbe led the defense with nine rebounds. Brooks was right behind him with another seven boards.
