Lauren Ruhl continued her early season dominance, scoring a career-high 22 points as #17 Lebanon Valley women's basketball rolled to a 71-38 victory over Arcadia Saturday afternoon. Shooting 6-for-8 from behind the arc, Ruhl tallied 16 of her points in the second half.
Liz Borgia added 13 points, while
Andrea Hoover and
Caitlin Murphy both notched six points. Scoring two or more points were 12 of the 15 players appearing in the game, and all but one player grabbed at least one rebound. Hoover and
Amanda Donia both grabbed six boards against the Knights to lead LVC.
Lebanon Valley (13-1, 3-0 CC) controlled the game early, scoring 11 points before Arcadia (5-7, 0-3 CC) broke onto the scoreboard at 15:05 with a jumper from Krista Hsu. Holding the Knights to just 14 more points, the Dutchmen ran out to a 20 point lead at the half.
In the first half, the Dutchmen scored 20 points in the paint and had 15 from the bench. Holding the advantage for the entire half, LVC led 36-16. Borgia tallied nine points and
Tierney Hiltz had a team-high four assists through the first 20 minutes.
Arcadia traded points with Lebanon Valley to open the second half with the Dutchmen up 40-22. Eight straight points from Ruhl, including two 3-pointers, pushed the advantage to 26 and Lebanon Valley lead by 20 or more points for the remainder of the contest.
Free throw shots from
Gabrielle Vass and
Gia Russo ended the game, securing the 71-38 win. LVC went deep into the bench in the second half, receiving 33 points from players coming into the game. Ruhl posted 16 points in the final frame and
Sarah Colton notched five rebounds.
The Dutchmen host Lycoming Wednesday at 6 p.m.
