Volleyball Splits Final Day of F&M Scramble

LANCASTER, Pa. – Lebanon Valley volleyball wrapped up play at the Franklin & Marshall Scramble Saturday afternoon, falling to Susquehanna in straight sets (24-26, 25-27, 22-25) before posting a 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-10) win over Marymount.

The Dutchmen (10-4) opened the day against Susquehanna, playing tight set scores but ultimately falling 3-0. Senior Joelle Snyder led the attack, posting 13 kills. Junior Jamie Hawk and senior Jess Raber each tallied seven kills in the match. Senior Emily Perkins supported the offensive effort, registering 39 assists.

Raber also helped the defensive effort, posting a team-best nine digs. Junior Angela Kuperavage, freshman Jess Finlayson and Perkins added seven digs each. Kuperavage also tallied two service aces against the Crusaders.

Lebanon Valley bounced back in the final match of the day, downing Marymount in straight sets.

“The team changed their focus and got into a good groove,” said head coach Wayne Perry. “We played great defense and decided to leave the previous two matches behind us.”

Snyder again directed the offensive effort with a team-high 14 kills, while Hawk added 10 kills and junior Nicole Barra had eight in the match. Perkins continued to aid the attack, posting 37 assists against the Saints. The front line also had a strong blocking effort with Hawk totaling four block assists and Snyder added three in the win.

Kuperavage led the team with 14 digs in the match and Snyder had eight, along with two service aces.

The Dutchmen continue Commonwealth Conference play on Wednesday when they host Albright at 7 p.m.
