RADNOR, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College women's tennis team dropped its 2010-11 opener at Cabrini Saturday, falling 8-1.
Cabrini (7-1) went ahead 2-1 after doubles and then swept all six singles matches in straight sets from the Dutchmen (0-1), who had four first-timers in their line-up.
LVC's only point came at No. 2 doubles, where the duo of
Christie Graf and
Alyssa Kulp beat Alexis DiCamillo and Adriana Scotto 8-2.
In singles,
Lauren Fulmer fell to Katie Kennedy at No. 1, 6-3, 6-0, and Kulp was a 6-2, 6-0 loser to Gabriela Durand at No. 2.
Tam Lobb lost to DiCamillo at No. 3 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, and Graf was defeated by Michelle Lettmann 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4. Scotto beat
Cortney Swisher 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5, and Victoria Nastala topped
Lauren Shanberg 6-3, 7-5 at No. 6.
LVC will make its home debut Sept. 23 against Goucher.
