MBB Beats McDaniel For Fourth Straight

Men's Basketball
Lebanon Valley 68, McDaniel 56

Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa
. - Lebanon Valley won its fourth straight game as it built an insurmountable lead early and then held off McDaniel, 68-56, in a non-league game on Sunday.

The Dutchmen (4-1) shot 27-for-34 at the line, led by Joe Meehan's 13-for-14 night,  as they led by as much as 29 on the Green Terror (2-3) in the second half.

Meehan had a game-high 20 to match five assists, and Danny Brooks scored 13 with Anthony Trautman adding 12 points and six boards. Jordan Stewart had nine rebounds to lead LVC.

McDaniel's Devon Lesniak, averaging 19 points per game heading into the weekend, had 10 points on 2-of-10 shooting, with six of his points coming at the line. LVC's defense had another good game, holding McDaniel to 35% shooting, including 2-for-12 for three; Green Terror starters scored just 26 points.

LVC led wire-to-wire, and led 27-12 late in the first half before a Green Terror spurt cut it to 29-18 at the break. A 10-2 LVC run to start the second half put the game firmly in their control, however, and LVC outscored McDaniel 25-6 over the first 10 minutes of the half to balloon their lead to 29.

McDaniel never gave up and played some tough defense of their own in the closing minutes, cutting the deficit in half with a pair of Evan Pupelis foul shots with a minute left, but it was too little, too late as foul shots by Grant Becker and Meehan made sure a comeback wasn't in the cards.

LVC shot 45% (18-of-40) from the floor overall and 35.7% (5-of-14) for three.

Elizabethtown visits LVC Wednesday night in the Commonwealth Conference opener.
