Lebanon Valley 5, Villanova 1
VILLANOVA, Pa. – Lebanon Valley used three unanswered goals in the third period to record a 5-1 win over Villanova Sunday afternoon. Two goals each from
Kyle Stewardson and
Shaun Stamm led the Dutchmen to their ninth win of the season.
LVC struck early in the first period with two goals, one from Stewardson and Stamm.
Brad Surdam and Matthew Kisiday posted the assists.
Villanova came back in the second, posting 20 shots to LVC's 10 for the period. Andrew Bieler scored the Wildcats only goal to cut the Dutchmen's lead to one.
In the third period, LVC registered three goals and held Villanova off the scoreboard for the win. Stewardson and Nicholas Schultz scored unassisted, while Stamm had helpers from
Corey Conte and
Nick Averona for his second goal of the game.
Matthew Turner picked up his second win of the season, making 34 saves.
Lebanon Valley returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 1 when it hosts Lehigh at 7 p.m.
