ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley women's basketball cruised to a 79-46 win over Brooklyn College Saturday evening in the Rinso Marquette Tournament opener.

The Dutchmen (3-0) will play Elmira Sunday at 3 p.m. for the tournament title. Elmira was a 71-63 winner over Penn State Altoona in the second game of the day; Penn State Altoona will play Brooklyn in the 1 p.m. consolation tilt. LVC will look for its second straight Marquette Tournament championship.

A total of 15 different players saw action for the Dutchmen, of which all but one scored two or more points. Rachel Armor, Amanda Donia, and Gia Russo scored their first points of the season, while Gabrielle Vass notched her first collegiate points.

Recording 49 rebounds in the contest, 11 players tallied two or more boards. Caitlin Bach led the way with a team-high six, while Renee Fritz notched five. Lauren Ruhl added a team-best eight assists, and both Tierney Hiltz and Bach recorded three steals. Hiltz was also 2-for-2 from behind the arc, helping the team to a 44% total for the game.

The teams exchanged points to begin and tied the score twice before Lebanon Valley pulled away. The Dutchmen scored 16 straight points, including 3-pointers from Caitlin Murphy and Ruhl. A bucket from behind the arc by Lauren Plagainos ended Brooklyn's scoreless drought.

LVC started another streak at 8:10, notching 14 points and going ahead by 25 points. The Dutchmen held the Bulldogs without a basket until 2:10 when Justine O'Callahan hit a layup. Brooklyn ended the half with four more points and LVC's Bach added a layup for a 38-15 advantage over the Bulldogs.

Totaling 24 points in the paint and 12 baskets off second chances in the final half, LVC ran away with the 79-46 win. The Dutchmen opened the second half with eight straight points and maintained a 20 or more point lead through the remainder. Lebanon Valley's defense held Brooklyn to a 32% field goal mark in the final frame and 27% for the game.



In the later game, Elmira used strong free throw shooting down the stretch to post a 71-63 victory over Penn State Altoona. Jessica Zoltowski led the Soaring Eagles with 24 points and Becca Fretz notched a double-double with 15 rebounds and 18 points.
