Box Score
HERSHEY, Pa. – A hat trick by Matthew Kisiday and two goals from Matthew Conroy led Lebanon Valley ice hockey to a 6-2 win over Villanova Friday evening at Hersheypark Arena.
The Dutchmen (8-1) went 1-for-3 on the power play in the game, while holding Villanova without an extra man tally in six opportunities.
Villanova reached the scoreboard first at 11:07 when the puck was dumped in the zone for a wrap around. With LVC goaltender
Rich Drazin out of position to stop the puck behind the net, an odd bounce off the glass sent the puck into the goal. Kisiday tied the score just 1:02 later after sending a rebound into the top corner of the net off a side angle shot. The Dutchmen took the lead for the first time at 13:03 with a power play tally from Nicholas Schultz, assisted by
Corey Conte and
Brad Surdam.
Lebanon Valley went up by two goals at 8:56 of the second period when Kisiday notched his second of the game, a wrister inside the right circle from Conte. Also assisting on the goal was
Justin Radanovic for his first collegiate point. Conroy put the Dutchmen up 4-1 at 15:35 with his ninth of the season. The play began with Surdam carrying the puck over the blue line and then sending a pass across to Conroy on the right side.
In the third period, Conroy tallied his second of the game, and Kisiday added his third of the game at 11:10 on a breakaway, assisted by
Colin Thompson for a five goal advantage. The Wildcats scored their second of the game with 4:47 remaining in regulation after a rebound deflected off Drazin and crossed the goal line.
The Dutchmen outshot the Wildcats, 31-22, and Drazin made 20 saves in his seventh win of the season.
