Total Team Effort Leads WBB to 81-42 Romp Over Wilkes

Lebanon Valley College was extremely active in its 81-42 win over Wilkes on Wednesday night, tying the fifth-highest single-game shot total in school history with 78 field goal attempts. 25 of those shots were from three-point range, which is the fourth-most treys took in a game by an LVC squad. All together, the Flying Dutchmen made 34 field goals - the ninth-most in a game - en route to eclipsing 80 points for just the 21st time in school history.

Eryn Schultz led LVC in scoring with 16 points including four three-pointers. This marked the seventh game this season where she has led the Dutchmen in scoring.

Andrea Hoover added 11 points on an efficient 5-of-7 shooting while dishing out five assists and coming up with three steals.

While those two players had the high numbers for LVC, it was a total team effort as all 12 active players played at least seven minutes and each made at least one field goal. Rachel Armor came into the game in the second half and scored eight points in nine minutes while adding four rebounds. Kayla Fulfer made both of her field goals, scoring four points to go with five boards. Tierney Hiltz dropped in seven points with a pair of steals and two dimes in 10 minutes of action.

The Flying Dutchmen played a stifling defense throughout the game, forcing 29 Wilkes turnovers. LVC made the Colonels pay for coughing up the ball, scoring exactly 29 points off those turnovers. Lebanon Valley also controlled the paint, doubling up Wilkes 44-22 on points in the paint. 15 of LVC's points from in close came on second chances set up by 24 offensive rebounds.

Megan Kazmerski led Wilkes with 13 points and six rebounds. Lindsey Gosse added eight points and five rebounds off the bench for the Colonels. Besides those two, only five more field goals were made by Wilkes - from five different players.

Lebanon Valley improves to 10-1 and will look to move to 3-0 in the Commonwealth Conference against Alvernia on Jan. 9 at 1 p.m. at LVC Gymnasium.
